Today is the last day of 2022! Remembering all God has done for me helps set my mind and heart on God’s Kingdom giving Him the glory for all the wonderful things he has done in my life and my family. “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.”
Psalms 34:1-3 NLT
I sit here in my chair holding my children by the fire, I look outside the sliding glass door to see chickens and dogs having fun in the snow! My heart is filled with comfort, joy and thankfulness for all his blessings and how God redirected my life to the path I must be on. I find so much confort reading scripture and in this verse from Psalms 37! “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”Psalms 37:23-24 NLT
We have a loving father who loves me and you! He leads me and you by His Holy Spirit! I trust His ways because His are over all! He created me for a purpose meant for giving Him glory!
I’m so very thankful for all of God’s loving kindness and everlasting love to me and my family! He has carried us through so many valleys and more. In the valleys there have been so many blessings! I’m thankful for each place the Lord has led me and my family. Through the Valley I have learned so much through the Holy Spirit as He molds me and shapes me through each and every trial and storm. The rain has washed me, while the thunder and lightning shook me! I trusted every step He had me take! Even in the darkness wasn’t darkness because of his incredible wonderful light illuminating the way! I know God keeps every promise. I look for His beautiful rainbow. I fixed my eyes on Him because He knows the path I need to take to teach me His ways and build spiritual muscles of unshakable faith in hard times! To teach me to be content with little and with much. God surrounded me with warmth through wonderful sisters and brothers in Christ who encouraged and challenged me to seek him more deeply. I’m so incredibly thankful for all my sisters and brothers in Christ who are a blessing to me and my family. Because we know what it is like to not have these special knitted relationships in the body of Christ. As I meditate on God’s living words this morning, it reminds me how important it is to continue to remember all that God has done in my life and my family! Because my husband and I wanted our children to know the love of God and who they are in Christ! We wanted them to have sisters and brothers in Christ! It was in our 30’s that God Surrounded us with his loving kindness and led us to where we needed to go. We were rejected in many groups because we are a large and loud family. My husband and I loved the Lord with all our hearts and prayed to show us how to raise our children for his glory! When we both prayed on our knees and wrote out our prayer, we mailed it to a group of prayer warriors! God lifted us up and out just like that and led us to who would teach us how and led us to our church family today! We chose to teach our children the truth about Jesus and God’s design for relationships. It’s harder as adults to develop friendships in the same way as children. It takes longer and that’s ok. We trusted God as he led my husband and I on a journey of a lifetime! It is important to remember and talk about all God has done and continues to do all the days of your lives! It will change your focus from self into giving God endless praise!
I’m writing this because God had placed this on my heart to share how important it is to remember all of God’s goodness in all the busyness! God’s word from the Bible is filled with how we need to stop, slow down and listen! As I wake up into 2023, I pray for me, my family, and all of you to only follow the Holy Spirit! I pray for wisdom and discernment that only comes from Him alone. We need our abiding relationship with Jesus as the Holy Spirit is knitting us together in the body of Christ forever for His Kingdom! We need to pray continuously for each other as we live out the endless love God has for all of us while drawing those who don’t know Him yet to His wonderful light!
“Then David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly: “O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may you be praised forever and ever! Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.” 1 Chronicles 29:10-12 NLT
