The Quick Path is Not an Option!

Fall of last year, I wanted to already be on the land and start working! But, chose to trust God, listen and wait for His perfect timing. I remembered when I chose my own way long ago and it didn’t go well! I had to let go of control of what I wanted and what everyone else thought we should do! I felt pulled in so many directions! There were so many voices in what we should do and not do, but through prayer and wise council, we listened to God by stepping out in faith, by waiting on the Lord! I want only God’s Will and nothing else! In the waiting, I learned so much and one of them is to trust more, as I rest in God’s hands! He is healing me inside and out and preparing a way! What seemed to be impossible is possible with God! As I type this out on my phone, the deep muddy road is being finished paved In granite rock! Psalm 18:2 NLT, “ The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” God will make a way, we just have to trust Him! We need to keep our lamps full as we stay in relationship with each other in the body of Christ!

I was walking with a good friend, a sister in Christ! We were going to have coffee at a new coffee shop! My natural response is to take the shortest path to get to the destination! I was excited to try this new coffee shop while eating delicious food and drinking coffee with my friends! I was so hungry too! However, there is a war going on, a flesh verse spirit war! We need to be awake, alert, and sober minded to be lead by the spirit of God, so we can hear truth and stay on the path! Ephesians 6:12 NIV, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Who will we listen too? What will we chose to feed? Our flesh or Spirit? Galatians 5:16-18 NIV, “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”

As I walked with my friend, I kept bumping into her shoulder, as I felt the pull to cut across the grass! She kept me on the sidewalk all the way to the coffee shop! Hebrew 10:24-25 NLT ,”And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” In the same way spiritually, we help each other to stay on the straight and narrow path by spurring each other on! Matthew 7:13-14 NLT, “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Helping each other remember who they are in Christ when life gets hard! Remind them they are loved and wanted! Remind them to keep going, run your race, don’t give up! God has you in his hands and nothing can snatch you away! We point each other to Jesus! Washing with His living words!

The world is busy and the quick way might save you time! But, the easy way leads to snares and traps designed by the enemy to get you off course! There is no easy way or short cut! John 16:33 NLT, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” The only way to God is through His one only Son, Jesus! Who is alive and preparing a place for you and me! The quick path is not an option! John 14:1-4 NIV, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Revelation 2:17 NIV,
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.
