We woke up this morning freezing cold and wondered if it might snow! It felt like winter was on the way! ❄️ I huddled in the blanket with my daughter determined to stay warm! 🥶 I finally got out of my comfy chair and made coffee and it seemed to take forever! ☕️ As I waited impatiently for it to brew, I decided to look out the window hoping frost didn’t touch the ground! I didn’t get the garden completely covered and I had to replant the garden a couple of times because of naughty chickens! To my surprise, the sunflower that grew side by side with the tomato and basil plant bloomed into a beautiful sunflower! 🌻 I was so amazed that even on a freezing spring morning, God reminded us, Spring is near and we just need to trust God’s perfect timing! We need to be thankful in praising God without stopping! When we seek God’s in all circumstances and keep our hearts and minds fixed on him, we experience an overflow of joy that can’t be taken from us! I would have missed out on the sunflower this morning if I chose to look at things differently! I finally got my cup of coffee and as I slowed down, before the day began, God unfolds the day and even with spilling my coffee in my van on the way to a well child exam, I still drank half a cup!
This afternoon I sat down holding my daughter after her appointment and noticed a butterfly flying around the window! A bird that made its nest near the house, dove for the window trying to eat the butterfly! I’m thankful the butterfly was not only safe from the cold, but the hungry bird outside wondering if winter is near! It has been cold and so we were waiting patiently for the weather to warm up to set them free! 🦋 🌻

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
1 Peter 5:6-9
6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
