Spring is a reminder that God’s mercy is renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22-26). We need to be humble and seek God continually in all things! (1 Peter 5:5 and 2 Chronicles 7:14) You will find Him everywhere! We need to teach our children what it looks like to seek him during times like these because we are called to be the light! We are light seekers in the darkening world (Ephesians 5:13-15). To choose to look for the rainbow light in every storm! Living out hope as though it is real and not a fairy tale movie with make believe visions! It is choosing to start a garden even if we have to leave it behind! Being real in your emotions so your children see how you walk and talk things out with God and each other instead of bottling your emotions inside! To live out what we believe is true (Jesus)! We need to stand firm building our lives on Jesus the Cornerstone in every decision and choice (Matthew 7:24-28). We need to be careful by praying for discernment and staying connected! (Proverbs 10:25 and 1 John 4:1-6) To keep in the word to remind us where we have been, and what God has done for us! His compassion and mercy for us is everlasting!
James 5 also says, “Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. We need to be patient with each other and focus on our love for God and each other! We are in the same storm but each of us circumstance is different! To chose to have compassion and love for each other during this season (Romans 12:3-16). The Judge is standing at the door! We are not alone in this storm and God knows everyone’s situation! We need to continue to Love God and love others (1 John 4:7-10). We are in the same storm but Jesus is in the boat with us! We need to remember Jesus walks on water and if we keep our eyes on him, we will not sink! (Matthew 14:25-31) Just like the day I fell into the deep end of the pool! I looked up reaching for someone while hoping I would be rescued! I was confident I would be saved! I could feel the bottom of the pool with my feet! I used all my strength to keep pushing myself up to the surface! I kept looking up, reaching and hoping! It was bright and silent underwater! Suddenly, my dad came out of nowhere and pulled me right out of the water! Jesus will not let you sink! Jesus will search, reach and rescue you no matter where you are and carry you back to safety!
Deuteronomy 29:12-15 says, “You are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the Lord your God, a covenant the Lord is making with you this day and sealing with an oath, 13 to confirm you this day as his people, that he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 14 I am making this covenant, with its oath, not only with you 15 who are standing here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God but also with those who are not here today” This is so important because it reminds us God keeps All of his promises! This is not only talking about them but us too!
During this time, We need to be doing what we are supposed to do, “Right now” as Jim Putman said in one of his podcasts! We need to be caught doing what God has called us to do because tomorrow isn’t here only today (James 4:14-16). We are warned in Exodus 20:23, not to make any Gods out of silver and gold, (money, entertainment, ect.) Also, James 5 says, how worthless it will be! James 5:8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Money may not buy you what you need! So, we only should stand firm on the one who provides everything we need! I rather trust what God knows I need, than what I think I need! Hebrews 1:2, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. We are All in His hand! There is nothing to Fear!
